So going to get the 270 gallon (6' x 3' x 2') Pentair fiberglass tank. I have a Fluval FX6 filter. Question is a 75 gallon sump good enough? I want a cheap easy DIY sump.

75 gallons is over 25% of the ponds volume. This is very good. General recommendations for sumps are 10-25+% Definitely the bigger the better to increase your total water volume.

Maybe consider a chamber with k1 or similar bio media with some air stones or water pumps to make it boil.

Good plan

This is the company that Pentar might be buying their tanks from this company in that they are made overseas.

This company offers 935 and 1600 gallon fiberglass tanks with windows. I found the website of the company that makes these fish tanks for Pentar
I found the website that makes the giant fiberglass fish tanks http://www.centuryreligioussupply.c...=message&pf=1&redirect_on_success=&Itemid=801

This is the headwaters of where these tanks are made and built and then shipped out to all the middlemen and then sold to us fish keepers. I'm going to see if they will sell directly to the public.

I'm in the process of contacting them about buying a fish tank or two from them. In that they can also custom make a giant fish tank.

The mark up that Pentar has on them is at least 70 to 80% I'm going to try and order one or two of them and see if shipping to my house kills it or not.

I'm currently going after a giant 560 gallon clear acrylic fish tank form this company in China.

I'm having a really hard time contacting the fiberglass tank company and finding how much shipping the tanks with a viewing window from their home county. But I appear to be making ground from this acrylic company in China. But I'm still in the information collecting phase.

You have to realize that pentair offers a coupon that's 10% off and the price that they list on the site is including shipping......it's gonna cost u more to have it shipped from Asia...not to mention if ur dealing with a company in Asia u can completely forget about any warranty
