We are in a lv 5 drought!!!!!!!!! try and take you part in saving water. Try to do less water chages or smaller ones. It could help out a lot if a lot a people do this:). Try and conserve water as much as you can not just in fishing keeping every were eles.:):):)

:cry:what does no one care if ga becomes a desert.:irked::irked::irked::irked:

I do!!! I love Georgia peaches.

Thought you were making a statement.

FLA's not far behind, our county just sold it's reserves to the next county (they're to stupid to build a reservoir).

Our problem is worse tho... We loose our fresh water and we get salt water intrusion and contaminates the aquifer for ages.

The problem is only going to get worse globally. As a Canadian I will be one the last to be afected by water shortages but it will hapen here too.

We need to get our heads together and figure out a filtration system that reduces or idealy eliminates the need for water changes...Now thats a challenge!

Well I am staring to cut back on water. Can't say so much about my fish but I am.

lol you beter tell your fish cut back too....lol:)

Don't believe it for a second. A practical, inexpensive, commercially available and simple denitrator is the only thing that could ideally reduce the amount of water changes necessary. In Saltwater there has been significant advances using elemental sulfur and denitrifying bacteria which feed off sulfides, but this has yet to be attempted in FW as far as I know. This utilization of sulfur-reducing bacteria gets around the age old problem that the bacteria which break down nitrates typically only exist under anaerobic conditions.
