Just picked up my three 1.5 - 2" dovii and they're lip locking and flaring at each other already.. Most aggressive cichlids i've owned don't start to get mean until they get to about 4"+! What's the growth like on these guys?

What size tank are they in? Did you buy them from the same place? Could be moving into new tank they want to set up who's boss or if the tank is too small they would fight too I had 4 dovii in my 220 didn't fight that I saw for a good 6 months my brother n law took em and put them in his 100 and only one was left after a week

They're in a 55 just now, they're only about 1.5" just now, will be moving to my 260 when they're a bit bigger. Yep, they all came from the same place too, added some more decor and caves and they've calmed down now thankfully!

They haven't come out of a gap under some bogwood since I put them in but i'll hopefully get some pics tomorrow. Not planning on breeding just now, looking for a female to keep in the 260 with a few other aggressive americans. I know the odds are that it'll have to be moved to another tank but i'm giving it a try, should have some time before I have to worry.
