I will be getting a aquarium for christmas, and want to do a cichlid aquarium, i want to see how other people decorated their aquariums. If you have one, please post a pic, also if you have any live plants, could you please tell me the name of them. Thanks in advance.

Here is a picture of my 75g about a year ago. I don't do live plants as they usually get up rooted and torn to pieces by bigger cichlids. I prefer the natural look as you can see. I would check out the Tank of the Month thread as there are some really nice pics in there.

i dont have any pics buts lots o' caves and logs are usually appreciated.
i do have live plants for now in the grow out tanks and i use:
Hornwort(grows super fast, trim top and replant)
Java fern and moss
anubias
bacopa
red ludwigia
wendtii (bronze and green)
lucto (forgot real name but its something like that)

My severum usually hangs behind a barrel decor inside the hornwort the angel is in the hornwort opposite of him. My apisto is usually under a tree decor within a bacopa patch and my curviceps is inside a little rock cave....

so if you want driftwood, its easiest (IME) to get like one big one that can run your whole tank then some smaller ones that can be propped up along side of it, with some rocks and java moss can be tied up to it... this is an ideal setup for SA/CA cichlids
