Ok, so in order to get rid of the aiptasia that came in with my toadstool corals, I got a peppermint shrimp today. I had been researching so I knew I needed to drip acclimate it. I cut a section of air tubing and tied a knot in it and had it waiting so I could start acclimation as soon as the temperatures between the bag and the tank were the same.

I'm having a really hard time starting a siphon. I don't want to use my mouth lol, I guess it would be easier, but I tried but it didn't work right away so I got scared and stopped. Does anyone have a trick for starting a siphon for drip acclimation with just an airtube?

My shrimp is floating in a bag at this moment, still trying to get that siphon started

Nevermind, I got it. I was worried it would die while I was struggling to get the siphon started.

i just use my mouth... baby :D JK

I use my mouth too. Start it before you tie the knot.
