First of all, hello to everyone. Just got myself with 2 Pearl Arowana abt 2" and 4 Tin Foil Bar 3-4". I have a 3Ft,15",18" Tank. Is the tank size sufficient for the two initially, will be gettin a bigger tank when it grows.
is it safe to keep the 2 Jardinis together??

Welcome to MFK.... you are better off growing the Jars seperately.... there wouldnt be so much agression as of yet.... but very soon there will be.... so be prepared.... and good luck

PS: where in mumbai u from? and how much did u pay for the Jars?

I am planning to get a 6 foot tank in 3-4 months. U think they can survive together??? Just a little puzzled because the LFS guy told that If feeding is proper along with distraction of other tank mates, they cud be kept in pairs. Plz advice.

firstly from what ive learnt is... dont listen to the lfs guys.... they know jack and just want to make their $$$.... and for the price i think u got ripped.... cause i paid for mine 1500 for 2"... anywayz now that u have got them beautiful creatures u have to just make sure u can house them the best.... man i have a Jar hez a beauty and sometimes i fret the aggression hez gonna show once mature... so thoughts cross ma mind of giving him and being in peace ehheeh... cause only one fish in the tank is not my kinda thing... but would never be able to give him away :)... most of the time its a hit and miss case... if you can grow them out separately you have a better chance.... oresle u neva know with these guys as i read in the forum.... go through the threads u will find a lot of threads titled as jardini agression....

Where r u situated and frm where do u get ur jardinis

i am from mangalore.... i have an house in hill road... got my Jar locally here... my reason to say its expensive is... cause you should have got it for much lesser than what i get here... as Aros are pretty expensive here...

If I'm correct jardinis and green arowanas are the most aggressive of the Arowanas and jardinis do tent to be the alphas of the tank so having 2 alphas in one tank can be risky but maybe u might get lucky, and u probably have about 3-4 months before those arowanas do grow out. Quick questions? Can u convert that amount do dollars cuz I pay $50 united states dollars for a 6inch jardini?
