Perch Fishing

Today was my first day out fishing this year...yes it took a while for it to happen. But it was a very successful day out on Lake Erie.

This is the biggest perch of the day and I must say it is the biggest I have ever caught or even seen for that matter!

Here is the days catch. About 60 in the cooler total. Gave 30 away and cleaned the rest myself.

hey sweet fish, what are you using for bait, Ive been using worms but only been catching 5-6 inch. That is a lot of yellow perch. Too bad you don't keep the big one in an aquarium.

I was using minnows on a spinner hook.

why would you keep that many perch? i hear there good eating but i mean, 60? just curious. I catch them all the time in chatauqua lake

I only kept 30 for myself.
I gave 30 away to a friend of mine they have a big fish fry every year and were collecting them.
Also, only about 10 of them were this big, so there isn't really a lot of actual meat on them.
I have them all pre packed and in the freezer.
Also, I gave a few away to friends.
