I would like to set up the best habitat I can for a Dragon Goby. I"m thinking about 90 gl. tank but have zero experience with brackish or salt water. I would like to add one more species ( I love those big orange mollies ) as long as it won't jeopardize the goby. Water flow and filtration systems are also I would like opinions on. I have also heard about a product called argonite for a substrate. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated .thank you

hey i have a 11" dragon goby that ive grown from about 5". hes just in a small 3x1.5x1' tank with a 50gal filter and 100gal air pump. hes with 2 banded archers and a knight goby and a kribensis that i have converted to 1.15 brackish. he digs holes and caves under what ever there is for cover. i built a gock cave then he dug under the supporting rocks to make his burrow. hes in about 2" of gravel. i use low lights and keep the temp about 80

I have one in my 55gal with a GSP, 2 Bala, 2 sunset platys, 3 striped tetras, 2 rainbow sharks, 2 red eye tetras, 2 giant danios, 2 striped danios, a pleco, and a Black angel.... I have it setup as brackish, but never really tested the water set up.... Whats the best way/ test kit to do so??? My water seems to be in good condition, cause my GSP is VERY tempermental about his water conditions. Belly turns black and stays that way when its no bueno.

big als calls them violet gobys i think dragon goby sounds cooler :p and get a hydrometer. its like 10 bucks at ur lfs. very easy to use. just fill it and give it a tap on a table and the arrow will show u what salt level ur water is. pm me its easier if u have any questions

also im guessing ur salt level isnt very high if all those fresh water fish are in there. im guessin its below .004 cuz the goby and puffer will do ok in the fresh water but the others its tougher to get them to live in brackish. i found that out with my freshwater fish as i started turning it brackish. some species did ok in it tho. my kribensis is still in it and doin good. my plecos and other fish didnt do so well tho. u need to be careful tho with ur gsp cuz he will peck at ur other fish unless u got a nice one.

None of those fish will like your alleged brackish conditions. You can you use a hydrometer. You should know your salinity if you're adding marine salt to a tank especially considering that you have no brackish water fish other than the puffer and goby. I'd start lowering the salinity ASAP
