Has anyone kept this catfish? I would like to know things like temperament, growth rates and just a bit more detail than what some sites are giving. I would really like first hand experience! Thanks.

Not really kept much, very rare fish. Gotta count the dorsal rays to distinguish them from the marbled pim I think. Care is probably similar to the marbled pim if you could somehow find one.

I can get a Perruno Catfish for £50 or $80ish i have correctly ID the fish and I am tempted. The specimen is 11" mouth to tail base. Not many people have kept it so info is scarce!

I remember another member from the UK bogwoodbruce had a perruno (least he said it was a perruno.) You should ask him. Think he counted the rays with his dad or something haha.

Why don't you post a pic and then we can properly ID it. Most labeled as perruno are actually L. marmoratus. I highly doubt anyone has even kept one anyways as they come from Lake Maracaibo in SA which is hard to get to and collect fish species from.

Either way, I highly doubt the fish you are thinking about getting is a true perruno.
