Don't know. :) another one on my list. Was gonna get one off aquabid, but there's so many unknowns with them. They have some pretty ferocious chompers from my understanding.

The fin spines are amazing, and would love to raise one of these to adult myself. A quick search on google images sickens me. Anything you search for about catfish these days has that stupid show come up. BLAH!!! Makes me sick that they disgrace catfish' good name by putting it on that crap.

Regrettably, all I can offer is from hear-say. Despite being a Bagrid, it is said to be peaceful. Can grow huge, bigger than RTC but I am guessing this rarely occurs even in the wild and likely hopeless in captivity (never heard, never seen a big one, not even a 1'-2'-er). Plus ID-ing within the Rita genus is hard. Rita rita is the only giant in the genus.

Only 3 registered keepers on PCF, two are in India: http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=386 - headbanger_jib is on MFK too so your best bet is to contact him - he is a big fish "hoarder" like us. Balaji (Shovelnose on PCF) is highly knowledgeable but I am guessing his rita is still small. When his fish get big, he passes them on to friends.

I'd ask for a good pic and do my best to ID the species before even considering. I'd do it on PCF for sure.

Ditto, $20 is good for any of the rita species, but the shipping is where it hurts!!!
