They pretty much eat just about everything offered, pellets, wafers, zucchini, romaine..... Mine prefer low lying wood and rocks and very rarely venture upwards in the water column. Mine are in a community tank and don't seem to be bashful at all. they are out as soon as food hits the bottom of the tank. Steve
