Hi...is it safe to put acrylic sheeting inside your tank???

the past 2-3 days i've been aqua'scaping and the plan was to create a 2/3 level stone effect inside my tank. by creating a cave with stone, covering the cave with a sheet of acrylic(with holes drilled through it),then i was goin to stack lots of nice beach stones on top of the sheet..its unescessarily complicated i know but i think it'll be something special when its done.

i just have a few concerns!!!

after i drilled the acrylic sheeting it kind of has a dust (which i will remove, before putting it in the tank) but im worried the exposed part(drilled parts) of the acryic will be toxic to fish!?

anyone got any idea? also should i treat the acrylic before placing in the tank??

also i plan on coating the acrylic sheet with coral sand by coating the acrylic with a really thin layer aquarium glue and then sprinkling on the sand..is this a good idea? is aquarium glue safe in large qauntities?
thanks
Andy :nilly:
