First time poster here, I've always been a cichlids guy but have been fascinated by Catfish lately and I don't mean Corydoras.

I purchased a 13 inch Perunno cat a few weeks ago and have him with a 12 inch Syndontis in a sandy bottomed 6 ft. 100 gallon tank. He's eating great everything from Food Sticks, Nightcrawlers and Krill oh and also about a 1/2 dozen Red Zebras that I didn't want. heheheehe

I'm wondering if any of you can share some tips for keeping this guy happy, I"m looking for a 240-300 gallon tank where he will end up in but I need some tankmate advice. I know he'll eat anything that will fit in his mouth but do you have any good recommendations? Any insight or experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks--Rob (Canton, Michigan)

I had a monster purruno that i just got rid of to free some bioload in my tank. He was 27 inches expect slower growth becuase he is already at 13". Feed a varied diet to keep him on his toes. DO NOT ADD SMALL FISH TO THE TANK hehe... They are very active at feeding time and lover to eat shrimp etc. With mine I had a 15" oscar and a 11 inch jd. The wider the fish the better, he wont be able to swallow wider fish. If you can get your hands on a big peacock bass once you have the bigger tank that would be cool. They are a great fish have fun with yours...

Here's my Perruno, he's about 14 inches. He's in with a 10 inch Pictus cat and a Syno. Notatus.
