Home of the brave.
My wife and I are currently in peru visiting her family. My wifes neighboor has two med leo rays that he wants to sell me for cheap. My question is can I bring them back to the U.S. with me and what would be the proper way to pack them for the flight if possible?

Thank you

not 100% what i would do is find an importer/exporter with proper permits to send it to an airport and time the package to arrive at your convenience so i dont worry about loseing it or damage in anyway when left to professionals

call customs.i am sure you can bring those rays home with you.maybe you need a health cert.. ???

Why would a fish need a health cert...
Anyway, as I dont think you can count the box of live fish as a check in luggage, after customs fees, shipping fees, plus all that stress crap on the way home thinking about whether your fish are still alive, you might as well spend a little bit more and just buy them locally when you get home.

I would say going through a local exporter would be your best bet. You would probably spend hours on the phone with the airlines and US customs only to find you that you will need a permit that you would have to get in the state before hand. Then again, you are allowed to bring a certain amount of stuff back with you. Don't know if you could set it up down there as a cargo shipment instead of check luggage. Either way, you will spend a lot of time on the phone getting the run around I am afraid.
