Please help!!! im debating what to get-rapps captive bred ecudorian festae, or COTA wild peruvian festae? I want the one with more orange!

I am currently growing out 5 Rapps Festae and they are eating machines. Just need to get them a little bigger to able to sex them.

I didn't know that Peruvian gets more orange, how can you tell when you are looking at a Peruvian as oppose to looking at a Ecuadorian Festae?

There isn't any proof 100% of this. Color is decided by genetics more so than location. And with Ecuador Festae the color spectrum is the widest. Lately the quality if Ecuador Festae out does any Peruvian I've seen. To fully appreciate and expirience raising Festae, it isn't a one time deal. You'll need to expirience both Peruvian and Ecuador to inderstand and the choose for yourself which one u like better

I find that incorrect. Location has a lot to do with color variations. Look at the difference in Jags, seems the Honduran ones only get Blue in the fins. And La Ceiba Freddys get blue, while Escondido is pure yellow black. I should add I'm only commenting on color via local. I'm not up on the Festae world so I cannot speak about them too much.

If your not speaking about Festae then why speak at all??!!! Cause this is all I'm referring to. Obviously location matters when dealing with other species and it has a small bit to contribute with Festae but not much. I've seen Peruvians blood red and others dull ass yellow/ orange. I've also seen it with Ecuador also. So in the case of Festae, location is merely irrelevant when it comes to color. Genetics is what matters. But when it comes to overall opinion, mine goes to Ecuador ALL DAY long!!!
