peruvian wolf fish questions?

local lfs has a 4" peruvian wolf fish that i would love to have but i need info on this fish, please help: how big and fast does it grow, and any pics would be nice to show colors.

depends. Is it a peru sp. ery or peru variant mala? Ery's get 8-10 inches. Peru varient mala's get maybe 18-20 inches. Is it more brown with a pointier head or purpleish and orange with a rounder head?

If its a mal, mine grew to 12" from 4" in a couple months with heavy feeding. I don't know how big they get in captivity but the largest I've had was around 17" and I'm not sure if he was still growing since I sold him soon after.

yeah, the peru sp. wolves don't really color up till later. I would look at the wolffish section all the way at the bottom of the page and compare the shape and characteristics of each to see what it resembles more.
