Anyone ever think of mounting your pet fish like they do sport fish? I was thinking people put allot of work and years into raising big beautiful fish. Anyone ever have one mounted. or would the be to weird like having sparky or fluffy stuffed?

I'm not thinking about doing it, the idea just hit me.

Yeah, but they wanted way too much to mount that neon tetra :)>

Seriously though, no. I always found it so creepy when people get their deceased dog/cat stuffed....not sure about pet fish though

I really do not think I would do it – for the sole fact that I think it would be weird to be confronted with the fact that something that you cared for (for years mind you) is no longer with you. I think that I would prefer to just get another fish so I can use my pent up love on that lol

HAHAHA You could make a nice chandelier out of a school of neons.

Yeah I couldn't do that to my dog that would be to sad. But I keep my fish purely for there beauty there not companions like my dog. A well set up tank it like living artwork for me. I don't think I would ever waste the money to get one done but some of these people on here have huge fish that they have had for 10+ years.

I think something like that would look cool. I remember as a kid seeing a mount of a pike coming out of the water after a lure or something. It was on the floor and it looked so real.

I have artifacts from some of my animals (ray barbs, shark jaws/teeth, arapaima scales, puffer skulls). I have dried a few fish - like puffers and cowfish. I've never gone all out with an entire large body to a taxidermist. Most of the large fish (4 foot plus) are just fiberglass replications based on your fish, though. You won't get your real fish back.

The fiberglass replica might be cool to if looked exactly the same. Might take the creepy factor out for some people.
