I was just wondering how many of you listen to Pet Fish Talk? http://www.***********.com/index.html What are your thoughts on it? I listen to it at work as I sit behind a computer most of the day.
I get this as a podcast. The Bailey Bros. dont talk much about big preds, but its interesting nonetheless. I do as spinnerbayt does and listen to it at work mostly. Some of it is kinda noobish but I think its worth a listen.
I've read some of their answers to people on their website and sometimes they seem way off base. They tell people not to use canister filters (outdated in their opinion), they say regular aquarium salt should be used for brackish(!), and they don't recomend anyone use gravel (they really came down hard on a person for having sand in their tank!)
They seem to answer in a way that suggests everyone who asks a question is a complete idiot (IMO) that doesn't know a heater from a filter.
I can tell you one thing, their (affliate?) company (****************) sure doesn't know how to pack and ship fish! My last order had one fish survive, bags unsucured in the box, heat pack just banging around in there with the fish, and they wanted me to pay shipping on the replacement fish! I found it funny in a way that a company with such "experts" on hand, who seem to have an answer for EVERYTHING, could screw up shipping so badly!
Maybe I should tune into the radio show, they might give better advise to people on the air then they do on the web, but I doubt it.
I bought 6 calico convicts from them and 4 arrived alive, same deal as you with the shipping, nothing was secure. I have found some of the info on **************** useful though when I need a quick answer to how big a fish is going to get that I know nothing about, again they dont have much info on cool monster fish, more community and semi aggresive fish.
