Can anyone give me some options of some plants to lower nitrates AND are pet safe (not just fish safe but dogs and cats as well)? I know ivy seems to be the most popular choice and most effective but I'm also seeing it's toxic to other pets, and while yes I can take precautions I'd rather just choose something foolproof and not chance hurting anybody in the house.
