Pet Shop And Black Piranhas

Can a pet shop Carry black rhom piranhas becasue my boss says we cant and i was sure we could cause we are located in illinois near chicago,And im in charge of freshwater and ordering and i want to order 4-6 Black piranhas for a show tank,

there legal here but my boss says we cant carry them becasue petshops cant have them,

If you call your Department of Natural Resources they should have information on the buying/selling/keeping of certain fish, which would mention whether there are different laws pertaining to actual pet stores.

They may even have everything listed online, I know Missouri does, but I can't remember whether I've checked for Illinois, though I used to live there.

What store do you work for. A lot of the national chains are no longer allowing their stores to carry them. It might be a company thing, not a local rule.

All the pirhannas have dissapeared in petstores in my hometown (in indiana)... they used to be in every single petstore... now I never see them

Where are you in Indiana? We can still get Piranha in my area and usually have red belly in stock. Blacks and Whimples etc seem to come and go but we can usually always get reds.

i know there arent illegal. i know many lfs's that carry pygos and a selection serras. its probably a store policy as stated above.

That would be an awesome diplay, i've always wanted a black pirhanna and my LFS has got a 5inch juvi in for £30 if i had an empty tank i might just be tempted.
