  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
body is making me think O, head is making me think different. I think we will need them to grow an inch to really tell.

Is there any other cichla out there with diamond shaped ocelots at this size besides an O?

When they're that small monos, ocell and even kels vertical lines kinda look diamond shape but become more pronounced with time. Shouldn't take long. I think it will be an O though, the heads got me buggn though

Head shape and vertical blotching lead me to id him as C. Monoculus. However at that size C. Ocellaris also looks like C. Monoculus.

I find that most, if not all orino's share a trait in the eyes. This trait is, the eye, if drawn a straight line from the front of the eye down towards the mouth.....it will line up evenly. Now, if this is done with monos, ocells, pleiazona's, kelberi's and negors and such.....if drawn a straight line from the front of THE BLACK of the eyes down towards the mouth, it will line flush (more or less).

So looking at your bass, To me, it looks to be mono or ocell type.

These are pictures of my older stock, lets see if you can determine the bass by the description I have learned......ENJOY.:D
