Petco Cichla??

Has anyone in the Philadelphia area seen a Petco that is stocking peacock bass? I've heard that some Petco's are, I just don't know if it's only select stores or regions.

Petco around here only carry like 10 diff fish all common peacefull community fish, the pet smarts however stock all kinda of fish. Just my .02

I've heard of people being to special order fish from perform, if they have it in their capabilities to order from. They usually just order the common stuff for the newbies.

I know that they can order them along with aros and other surprising things. The store in our area has carried clown knives and some fairly nice SW fish as well. The fishes condition when they arrive is another story...

OP ... its very rare that a store like petco will carry them. With that being said, Petco has a contract with segrest farms and 3m. Mostly they get their stock from segrest, who carrys cichla. Its been my expierence that these major chains are unreliable when ordering fish. I would find a mom and pop place, here in Jax theres one called Jollys, and order them from there. Jollys had my cichla from segrest to me in 2 days. Or, head over to the cichla section, theres a ton of vendors over there that will over night you a healthy fish for really good prices.
