petco koi

i bought some koi at petco and i've noticed that some of them are losing their scales and are "bald". what can i do to cure this?

i don't think it's an injury from my tank, he's too new and again it is a chain store fish.

Might be from another fish nip at them or from handling to rocks or sharp stuff inside the tank. They will grow back but it will take some time.

should i add something like melafix or pimafix to the tank?

ok my last post was deleted BUT

the best thing to do is keep water quality pristine. do frequent water changes. and not sure if he's isolated already but isolate him and delete any risk of infection. my auntie had one like this from poor water quality. give it some time. just don't stress the koi out. a little salt goes a long way
