hi all can you keep bay snook(petenia splendida) with oscars of a similar size or are they too aggressive? and what size do they normally max out at in an aquarium? cheers:)

I have a 15" Bay Snook in a mixed community with peacock bass, dovi, managuense, buttikoferi, giant gourami, oscars as well as a number of large cats and he shows no aggression at all. They are in a 12' tank and just move out of each other's way, no probs.

I have one thats 12 inches and he isnt aggressive, but he doesnt care to hammer someone if they hammer him first.. For instance, he leaves everyone alone and a fish comes over to him and pushes him. He will immediately whip that fish and its over. But hes never aggressive unless another fish prompts him.. Hope this Helps...

thanks for advice would a 6x2x2 be ok

with that experience and hoping that yours would be the same way it should be ok with oscars! because in most cases oscars are not the provokers in any fights or quarrells! so if your snook would have that layed back addittude theneverything SHOULD be fine!
