Petina Splendida overextended basket mouth can't close...

One of my red bay snook over extended his jaw going after a goldfish today. It stuck all the way out then started sagging down. He's having trouble breathing and can't eat. Dunno if he's gonna be alive in the morning. Anyone ever had this happen? Any suggestions. I pulled him out and tried to get his jaw to go back, but to no avail. I think he's a goner...

That happened to mine once, I caught it and gently pushed the jaw back in place with my fingers. I figured if it didn't it was a goner anyway, but it worked fine.

what duanes said. ive heard about people that catch the fish and gently manipulate the mouth back into position with good results. it's worth a try, the fish is a goner if you dont try.
