Some Guy on Craigslist is giving me 5 of them for a 29 gallon tank. There around 4 inches are they worth anything?

They are very nice bottom dwellers for the community tank as well as African cichlids...too small for monster tanks.

Long lived and pretty out going for small catfish. As for price, I've seen people charge $10-30 each pending various factors.

Relatively easy to breed as well.

Thanks for the info. He actually breeds fish. I'm selling him 3 10 gallons for 30$ and he was going to give me 5 for the 29 I was only asking 30 for the 29 so I think ill take it. Ill just need to get them a larger tank. How big do they get? They don't look like monster fish but neither does my baby red tail lol

They are tiny...3"- 4" maxThey are actually egg scattered...unlike the more famous multipuntatus..when I had them, when I clean my canister filters I can always get a few wiggles out from them.

Petricola are quite rare. If it is genuine, it is far more likely to be Synodontis lucipinnis. Still, there is an even greater possibility it is a hybrid. Genuine petricola can be considered a pricey fish, depending on size. Luci - much less. Hybrids - a dime a dozen.

Please take a look at the synos that interest you: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/genus.php?genus_id=29#1430
