Hi never had petrochromis but they look nice fish.

just wondering if i could have them with frontosa or are they the same as tropheus?

They are the same as tropheus in so much as they are far more active, and typically aggressive, than fronts. I personally wouldn't mix either/or with frontosa for that reason. The fronts would do far better on their own, or with smaller less active species that won't constantly be waging war with each other. On the other hand, sometimes smaller fish disappear during the night. ;)
