My petrochromus moshi has had big fat lips for the last 4-6 months. I have tried the following medicines - Erythromycin, Maramycin 2, Rid Rungus (Kordon), and API Pimafix antifungal fish remedy - all without any success. The fish is kept alone in a 10 gallon tank, at 78 degrees. What else can I try? Please advise, thank you.

WOW! I've never seen anything quite like that before. What are your water parameters? Whens the last time you did a water change? Have you tried treating with salt?

Hello. Thank you for the response. I really don't know the water parametes off hand. I changed the water 2 days ago to start on Rid Fungus medication, I haven't tried adding salt to the tank yet. Do you recommend epson salt? I have been trying different medications as recommended by different fish store workers but nothing has worked so far. The Moshi is eating pellets well and I don't want to give up on him yet. Thanks.

His eyes looks like it protruding a bit too... possible Lymphocystis infection which is a viral disease. Not much you can do to save it as far as meds go since it's a virus and not an infection/bacteria problem.

Personally I would put the fish down but if you want to continue to nurse the fish I would get water params and make sure you try and provide good stable water/diet and hope the fish builds it's immune to cope with the disease. Also be very cautious about spreading or infecting other tanks as it is a contagious disease.
