Petsmart Discontinuing Larger Quiet One's

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but here goes.

So I went looking to get a large pump (quiet ones' 5000 or 6000). Did the usual Big Al's print out and run to Petsmart as I can't wait to get my DIY system finally finished. When I get to Petsmart I only see a 3 quiet one 4000 on the shelf (or smaller ones). I ask if they have any of the larger sizes and employee says no, didn't even realize they had the 4000's...something about discontinuing. So I just figure its usual retail guy who doesn't want to look in the back for me. Decide I'll go to other Petsmart next town up and get what I need. While putting back the 4000 I notice the price - $45.!!! Thats when I said to myself, this has to be a mistake. So I took two of the 4000's, for the same price as the 5000. BINGO
To wrap up the story, and how I found out they look like they are going to only sell smaller pumps 2200 and under. Well one of the 4000's failed on me while dialing in my DIY sump. Decided to not come back on and I went to return it.... Problem is there aren't anymore 4000 or larger (that I could track down), from Mid-NH to East coast-NH.

So if you see them out there you may get a deal.

Anyone else find this??

So we should go buy a product that in your experience is fifty percent effective? I got my hagen elite when a lfs went out of business! Own three, they all work fine.

Only reason why I looked for the Quiet One's was the information I found here was that they were reliable. If they were 50% effective I would think they wouldn't have kept them on the shelf, but take it for what you will. My only thoughts were to get some feed back. Yours was outstanding!

Last year I got the last 2 Marineland Powerhead sponge filters from my local Petsmart for $5 each because they were being discontinued. I love getting awesome deals like that.

If they were 50% effective, they weren't keeping them on the shelf, they were selling them off cheap! Sorry if I offended... Dont get one of those Whisper pumps, they're like 75% innefective, I bought two, one I took back, the other died in less than a year, and they still keep those on the shelves.
