anyone know how big the synodontis hybrids at petsmart get? they say Synodontis longirostrus on the little card below the tank, but obviously thats wrong. i was thinking botu getting one but i dont wanna end up with a huge fish...

I believe they will only get 4 inches long. I was looking at those same ones also. I might get one from petsmart. I got my pacu from petsmart and they are doing great. Check them out really good and make sure they look healthy. I don't think you will have a problem with them getting really large. Good luck.

i've heard that they nearly reach 2 ft.

The largest species known can reach a size of 12" long and that is the really large ones. I never heard of a 2 foot one before. Where did you hear this? Just curious and maybe it is true.

synodontis longirostrus (the real one) gets 22".
and thanks guys :)
though i dont know if i wanna spend $16 on a syno hybrid that gets 4" or $20 on a S. eupterus that gets 8"...
decisions, decisions...

not sure what type it is but a store near me has a syno easily over 12" but it's not for sale.

I wanted one of those Petsmart syno fish also. The description says it gets 22" which is correct if it actually is a longirostris. But who knows if it is the actual species.

My "longirostris" is about a year old and close to 5" long. He's not quite as big as my eupies that are around the same age, but larger than the "zebra" synodontis I got 6 months earlier.

syno syno syno

the gf's syno "marty"
