They have a weird looking blood parrot at Petsmart where I work. It has black and orange a little bit, I'm thinking of getting it.

I love the "mom and dad" pet stores! They're some good Petsmart stores but I they're all the same. Petsmart, Petco, and Walmart.

My petsmart is pretty good. Theres a dead fish now and then but the tanks are always clean and the fish generally seem very healthy. I bought my neons there a couple years ago and 2 of my 3 bichirs with no problems.

When I worked at petsmart the ratio I would buy from them or a lfs would be 50%/50%. Now it is 100 % lfs. My petsmart usually have healthy fish. Me and the other girl that worked at petsmart knew the most about fish, then she moved away so it was only me. Our petco on the other hand is horrible. And if you look on the tags at petsmart they would say 30+ or so for a certain fish. The plus sign makes it technically right because needle nose gar need more then 30 gallons.

Not mine but I browse and just dont like what I see. I dont hate them or throw a hissy fit about the fin rot obvious parasites etc I just got somewhere else. In fact I only buy my fish from one store. If they dont have it they import it. I trust them and them only

I go to chains to pick up supplies a lot of the time because it's usually cheaper...usually, but lfs for fish because they have more selections.

Although i voted that petsmart is a good place to buy fish, i do have some problems with the store. The people there are generally uninformed and useless. I picked up some pacu from petsmart today (there were four 6" red bellies in a little 10 gallon holding tank ) i told the woman that i would take them all. She smugly said "you know they get to be 3 feet long?" and i replied that they would be better off in my 120 than in her 10 gollon anyday and she should be ashamed for how bad of a saleswoman she is. Although the fish are happy in their new home and look beautiful, the staff is the stores bigges downfall.

shop for fish at petsmart. but beware of the employees.
