i buy from petco.. as well as my lfs. i like having the option of bringing back a dead fish to petco but i cant do that with my lfs (all sales final) but im sure its because they have more faith in the health of their stock.

I buy dry goods there. Sometimes they have healthy fish, just a bad selection. I've seen absolutely terrible fish there, too.

Can we just agree that some are good, some are decent, and some are bad? :D

YES!!!!!

Maybe their fish aren't the best but i don't know why a serious aquarist like yourself would go to petsmart for fishes. Their fishes are for noobs. And so what if the fish dies it's not a motoro stingray or a jardini or a ornate poly. If you're buying a fish that cost 12 plus dollars you probably did some research and know petsmart does sell it. Unless you're stupid like me, go and buy any Kool lookin fish you see. But aside from the fish they got dirt cheap supplies at my petsmart with the card.*

Just thought I throw in my opinion
Enjoy petsmart :D * * * * * *

I will never go to Pet Smart. Every single pet smart I have been to has increadibly unhealthy fish. All their tanks are connected, so once one fish has an infection or parasite, then they all have it. At one store I saw 12 oscars with HITH!
They give incorrect information, which is what really bothers me. Every tag says the fish grow smaller then they actually do. They had red bays snooks listed as growing 8'' full grown :screwy: That is only half the actual size of the adult size. It is miss leading, and the fish suffers in the end.
The staff that works in these chain stores hardly know anything about the fish, so the customers never get the right info.
It is always best to go to a local fish store. These stores are started by people who love the hobby, and are much more knowledgable. Most o the time the fish are well cared for.

I also hate pet stores like pet smart because they keep puppy mills in business. If you buy a dog from one of these places, chances are it will have health and/or psychological problems.

So, I hate Pet Smart and will never give them a dime of my money.
