You should be fine as long as the pH stays stable. If it just jumps to 7.8 after water changes and drops down a day after them then you might have troubles.


Also, if your rays are eating fine you shouldn't worry too much.

My pH is always around 7.8!

I think Colin is the one that says his rays are breeding in 8.0+!
