I was wondering what the Ph should be with reds. I want to run my african tank inline with my soon to be piranha tank, with my overflow and pump. cichlid tank sits at 7.8ph.

my ps tank is about 7.6 and Farly hard water and there just fine.you would be good with that p.h. changing it would only cause more problems.

I agree with JAK. Fish can and will be be healthy in just about any pH from 6.0-8.0 as long as they acclimated to it properly. My Ps lived in water that was baisically liquid granite and had a pH of 7.8 and their colors were amazing!

the most important thing with ph is keeping it constant. ph swings can easily kill your fish. it's best to leave it alone rather than mess around it.

I second that, any pH from like 6.0-8.0 is fine as long as it's consistant. My piranhas live in 8.0 pH with no problems.
