Knee deep in fish
what would cause my ph to drop to 6-6.6 my tank is a 65 gal fish only w/30lbs live rock my water tests good other than ph my tap is 7.8 my salt supply is 8.2 but my tank keeps dropping ph ive got a xp3 and a 304 plus a cpr skimmer ive got crushed coral substrate the tank has been up for 8 months it did this when it was about 2 months old i used ph buffer and it just fixed itself i need help bad

I don't have saltwater but just a thought since no one else has answered-if you're changing water often enough there shouldn't be a crash because the minerals in the tap and salt mixture keep it up where it should be. I know some SW people only change their water once a month and then wonder why they have problems.
If you're doing your weekly water changes then this should'nt apply. I hope you get some help from SW people.

Ive had a PH crash before, my LFS told me my annenomies were sucking down the PH due to bad water quality, not sure how true this is

How many fish do you have in there. Over time, a large bioload will depleat the buffering ability of the water.
What type of salt mix do you use?
Do you do any additions? (ie: Calcium)

i change 12 gal a week i add purple up i have 3 small triggers+3 small puffers(its a grow out tank)also i think it may have to do with a low o-sat someone told me low o2 levels will lower buffering abilities

Have you had the windows closed with the air conditioning for a while? Causes CO2 to rise in the house, causing pH to drop in your tank.

I agree. And also, even though the PH of your tap and projected PH of your salt mix is on the higher, more desired end - this doesn't guarantee that that is what you are going to get once you factor in the rest of the elements which can lower buffering capabilities. You should also start adding a PH Buffer and see if the problem does not correct its self. PH drops can be caused by a number of factors - even with regular maintenance.

Try Kent Marine's Pro-Buffer DKH and see if that doesn't help level out your PH flip-flops.
