I just tested my ph in my tank and the result is a darker yellow than what is on the card. I am really concerned I don't have any crushed coral on hand and I've read up on adding baking soda (should I or should I not) a quick reply would be appreciated. The ph was 6.2 this afternoon. I am getting nervous. I have 5 zebra danios, a male and 2 female gouramis, and 2 peacock gudgeons. I really don't want any casualties. :help2:

i would get some bakeing soda, just dont add to much to fast, if its that low u do not want to raise it to fast add alittle and wiat then add more, slowly get it back up. i have heard that if ph gets to low and acidic it will kill all the bacteria and it would be like you haft to cycle the tank again. if its geting that low i would go to store and get some bakeing soda cheap and easy if you need to fix it soon

For the long run, you can add crushed coral to either the substrate, or the sump(if you have one) . Just add a little, and keep testing. Test and add, test and add, until your ph is where you want it.

yep, just a heads up tho, i would say not to dump in gravel bc then if you ever need to take some out it wont take u a day lol. i just put min ein a small media bag and put in your filter, or just put some in sump/
