ok so im breading rcs my tap comes out at 8.4 ph >< but my cherrys love it and breed like bunnies!

problem is i have a 5 gal tank set up and ready for some tigers cycled and ready, but my ph is 8.4 id like it at least at 7 and 6.4 if i could but i dont know how to do this. every thing i read says to not use chems and to use things like drift wood... but that it takes a long time to buff the water. well its a 5 gal tank ill need weekly water changes and each change adds more 8.4 ph water so how can i pull this off any ideas plzzzz!!

pre mix the water in a tank with drift wood in to bring down the ph level. just use a powerhead in the tank to keep the water moving.

That's good but I have a 37 gal with a larrrrge drift wood in it takes up like 3/8 the tank its been up and running 2 months and the oh hasn't dropped any the 5 gal has wood in it also a large wood for a 5 gal but the ph dosnt seem to move over 2 months so any water change would seem to back track any progress and other ideas?

this is what works for my 5 gallon crystal black shrimp (been breeding too)

all RO water, pieces of driftwood, indian almond leaf.

I don't do weekly water changes, I just siphon out dirt etc when needed and replace w/ RO water

I dont have an RO unit, I buy it for about 35 cents a gallon

almond leaves are good for adjusting ph but it takes a while which is good really so you dont get ph shock

the water vending machines outside of grocery stores sells ro or di water. grab a container and have at it.
