when i had a few if start dying in my 65g tank i started getting a bit worried. about 5 in a week now. thats something thats never happened. i took a sample to the pet shop and there was no ammonia the no3 was 25, gh was 125 but the ph was about 5.8. how could this have happened i thought. i bought a test and checked all my tanks. 225g was 6, other 65g was 6 and my quarentine was 6.4. when i checked the tap water it was 5.8.

what the hell is going on here!!!!

grammar???

so i should phone the water board? i drink and wash my kids in this water!!! got my pet store to test their tap water and it was just under 7. greeny yellow. mines is bright yellow. of the chart yellow

FYI, tap water PH will change after it is aerated for 24hrs. But I don't think thats the cause of your problems........

Do you have a lot of driftwood in your tank? Driftwood will leach tannins which will lower your PH.

You can also add some crushed coral to your filter or tank. That will help raise the PH.

I think he's pointing out your awful grammar. Try capitals at the beginning of a new sentence for starters.

Go get a PH buffer and slowly raise the PH. If you want, you can even change your substrate to crushed coral, or aragonite which will help keep your PH higher. My Fahaka's tank has a PH of about 7.7 with an aragonite substrate. No complaints.

I can ship bottles of my pH 9 tap water if you want?

I'd get some crushed coral sand or similar things rather than mess with pH adjusters.
