after doing a 25% water change on a 60g drop the ph level for a little while? i did the water change a few days ago and tested my ph today and it was a little low so i was just wondering if that would affect it or if i need to get stuff to raise the ph? thanks

What is the pH in your tank normally? What is the pH of your tap water or the water you are adding for waterchanges? What type fish do you have? What type substrat and decor do you have?

around 7.8 and now its at 7.4 or so. we dont use tap water we use R.O. water when we do water changes or even add water. we have african cichlids, jd, rtc, bichir, fire eel, a needle nose gar and a few plecos. we have tan sand and tan grainy (is that even a word?) rocks.

You would probably need to adjust you RO water before adding to your tank.

PM wolf3101 he uses R/O water in all his tanks and could better suggest what to do. I only use R/O for my discus and even that I mix with tap water to give a low hardness and a pH of 6.4.

Do you use any additives with your R/O water? Using straight RO is not good.

There are several products available such as Karstwasser

MY WATER HERE IS SO HARD I HAVE A SALT GENERATED WATER SOFTENER AND AN RO SYSTEM, MY PH ALWAYS AROUND 7.4 - 7.8 I PUT A DIY CO2 ON MY TANKS IT BRINGS MY PH TO 7.1-7.2. HERE IN WEST TX IF A FISH SURVIVES IN OUR WATER IT IS ONE TOUGH CRITTER. BY THE WAY ALL OF OUR LAKES AROUND HERE ARE SALT WATER LAKES. WE EVEN HAVE A SHRIMP FARM HERE.
