hello guys, just got my 250 gallon tank and boy its a monster.so here is my little problem. my well water is about 6.2-6.4 when i bought the tank i filled it and cleaned the crushed coral that came with the tank and put it in. i then found out that it raised ph. its at about 7.4-7.6 now maybe higher. is it going to countinue to climb? i keep piranha so i want it a little lower. i took as much out as i could there was a few cips left. i layed sand back down. the lfs said its better that i let them get used it it and not try and brang it down. any advice!

take the crushed coral sand or water ever it is thats making your pH go up, out and do small water changes (10-15%) everyday until it goes back to around what your well water is at 6.2-6.4(make sure this happens slowly) 6.2 -6.4 is ideal pH for piranhas no need to mess with it

your lfs is wrong you definatly dont want it any different from the water you use for water changes (or else you will be shocking them everytime you do a change)

should be fine now if theres any left suck it out with a syphon hose when doing your next water change (no more than 15% water changes until your pH restabilizes at your well's pH)
