My tap Ph is between 8.4 and 8.2 my tank ph is 7.0ish. Ive got the same decor as I always have in my tank. Any ideas why there so different. Also right now I'm meding my tank with pimafix. This will be day two, treating some fungus on my Oscars fin. I lost my Jack dempsey yesturday and a clown loach today. Don't know why, my readings are were there suppose to everyones acting good. Just wondering about this Ph difference dont know if meds make a false reading or what.

Thanks for your reply. Im aware that the Ph can rise or fall but Ive never had it fall that much. The Ph from my tap is usually around 8.2 and my tank water is usually around 7.5 or a little higher. I cant remember it dropping as low as it has.

Overfeeding can lower pH, could be that.

Overfeeding, not cleaning gunk out of filters, lack of water changes, detritus buildup, an unseen dead fish, can all cause pH to fall. All those things create acidification.
Disease can be a result of stress, which can also be caused by any of the above.
The lowered pH is a symptom of something else wrong.

What about a rising pH? My tap water is at a 7.6, but the water in the tank is at 8.0. Master Kit reads Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate all at 0 ppm.

Substrate is Quikrete medium grade sand. Deco is river rocks, a few plastic plants, and typical deco that a fish store sells. In my case, a large bonsai tree and a cave.
