I was wondering if all rocks raise your pH or do only texas holy rock and etc....? If not all of them do what rocks don't? And can i get rocks out of my yard clean and boil them then place them in the tank or would they raise the pH? Thanks in advance Dr.B :D

Only rock that has a calcium carbonate or bicarbonate base will raise pH, like Texas holey rock or limestone. Other rock can raise/dissolve other different mineral substances in the water, but not necessarily raise the pH . The best way to tell, is to take the rock of choice and drip some type of acid on it. If there is a chemical reaction, such as fizzing etc, it can raise, or at least, help buffer pH and alkalinity.
