ok, so unfortunately this isn't a happy thread..

I have raised 8 yellow labs along with 1 misc peacock since they were fry. i received them for free so it's not a loss...however it just kind of bums me out. My question, could a spike in ph from 8.2 ...to 7.8 overnight kill 9 fish? It didn't seem like that much of a change to me... however i wanted to ask someone who had kept africans longer than i. I decided to do a water change last night after not doing one for a month (i know, bad boy... however i've been busy). but i woke up this morning and alllll of my fish died

Did you do a really large water change, the deaths could possible be due to high level of chlorine? Definitely a strange occurrence.

just about 30% nothing more than i normally do when i do them... but i let the water sit for 2 days before doing it, so shouldn't the chlorine have evapped?
