my tank always reads ph6 or below and i have 1.0 ammonia. my tank has been set up for a year now and my bass are a good 45 cm. My problem is that its always been like this and i have tonns of filtration and the bass a fine but i worryed that the low ph is not letting bacteria grow?? is this true?? also if i was to raise the ph how do i do it safely coz i know its not the bet to do??? my tanks 180 gallon and 3 monos. i do 2 watere changes a week of 50% and 1 fx5 and a massive diy wet/dry with 2 retern pumps pumping 1150 leters each per hour. what can i possibluy do to get rid of the amonia?

Drift wood will help alter the pH to a safe level due to the tanins it releases. Ive heard certain leafs do it as well, but youd have to do some research on the leaves

That will lower his PH, that's not what he wants to do.

I just use baking soda to raise mine. Raising the PH a little should help the bacteria procces the amm better.

Clean all your mech filter media real good to, it will help lower the acid/dessolved organics levels. You may have already done this......
