hello,

long time no see...:grinno:

Did anyone keep Phalacronotus apogon here?
I have a group of four (about 6") they're freshly imported 3 weeks ago.
The problem is that they didn't eat anything yet.
I do not really know if they are really predacious because they're not interested in live fish or shrimps.
They seem to be very calm and peaceful, not a typical "asian predator catfish behaviour" as I know it from other species.
So did anyone keep them and can tell me what you're feeding them?

regards,
Mike

Fore sure I've known this link because it's nearly the only information source for this species.
"Readily feeds on live/frozen foods and other prepared foods such as pellets. Will also eat fishes/shrimps."
They are far away from that...
No reaction when live feeders swim around.

well my only advice would be shotgun feeding. try anything and everything. also, you may want to try to remove the tails of your feeders, to make it easier to catch them. i've been doing that with my wallago because of his size vs tank size. he eats about every 12 hours.

Are the feeders to big? ive had that issue in the past. otherwise stress may be your culprit. new wild caught fish i always try and stuff the tank full of hidespots ect. have you tried live blackworms yet? this was the only thing most smaller oddballs ive kept would eat at first.
