As some of you know I got a baby midas for my birthday back in december. Well here are the best pics so far. Some from when I got him and some of him in his new tank recently. Sorry for the quality they were taken with my itouch.

This first one was of him/her at my lfs. They had to order him for me and I was there a few hours after they got him in.

This next one is in the QT after a few days.

This was my birthday cake my fiancee made for me. All organic even the frosting. :)

Another from yesterday. His colors have started to change over the past few days. He is getting more black markings and his orange is intensifying.

A full tank shot of his grow out. There was more java fern and a few mollies that are missing now.

Very nice. Im going with the barred midas. Gonna get him about 3 inches or so

what are you feeding him?

He eats earthworms, meal worms (softer post molt ones), and a mix of hikari/nls pellets. Both the earth and meal worms he will eat from your fingers. On the veggie side of the house he gets duckweed which he loves, and tiny chunks of steamed veggies like peas, soy beans, and sweet potato.

Oh okay thanks. I dont have earthworms but ill replace those with hikari FD krill and frozen bloodworms. Ill have to pick up some veggies though, thanks for the help, cant wait to own one of these brutes.

Update! We came home from the beach and the little guy has no black on him (except his pupils) just a peachy color with orange tipped fins. I'll post photos tomorrow when I unpack the camera/laptop plug.

Anyone know when the nuchal hump starts to form if he's a he?

Nice midas cichlids are a ton of fun! I love mine!
