I have a question, but wasn't sure exactly where to place this thread...

I've seen some amazing photos posted up by people and just wondering how do you get them to come out so well!

Mine always come out cloudy and foggy or dull... tips?

i think theres a threa in the photo lounge on tips for taking pics. a good camera always helps ;) but if u want a full tank shot its always best t turn al the lights off but the tank light no flash on the camera. for fish shots always take pics at an angle so the flash doesnt refelect off the tank are anything :) thats all i can say as my pictures arent as good as some folkls here :)

what woofy says is true, the amount of time ive took a nice photo only to have it ruined by flash relfection from the glass XD
a good camera is always usefull but all you can really do is stick at it and keep trying.
it sometimes takes a while but eventualy u will have the perfect picture

lotsa light ( no flash from camera though, but if u have a remote flash that you can place on top of the top to flash down , that would help) , high ISO, fast shutter ... etc etc

I feel your pain. I have all of these cool fish and I suck at taking pictures. I will say camera has a ton to do with it.

check out www.aquatic-photography.com There is a lot of explanation there. IMO, lighting is the most important part.

And shooting LOTS of pics. I probably post about 5% of the pics I shoot. My camera and skill limits quality, but the more you shoot, the better chance you have of getting a great shot.

Yeah, my camera is quite decent (I think) - nothing fancy but seems quite alright.

Will be doing lots of experimenting and playing around with the camera. Hopefully will get a couple of decent shots.

Still in the process of setting up my new tank - I'm quite new at it all so its taking me AGES to get things done the way I want it and done right... *sigh*

Also a nice clean tank in & out.... with no water stains on the outsides of the glass will help! ;)
