cute!!!

no, this photo was taken yesterday at my buddies reptile shop. I only have spotteds right now. Its the only real turtle that interests me at this time. Mainly due to them becoming less common in our native waters. They do great here and I have 3-4 clutches a year. Plus they are pint size and can be kept in a small waterlandtub

You raise spotteds! I would love to get a pair of those someday. You're right, they aren't very common. I use to go out looking for them and Glyptemys muhlenbergii in the spring time and I only came across Clemys guttata one time. I also believe they are very secretive for a turtle. These are great turtles, too bad not that many people breed them. I've been looking for them recently online and boy are they on the pricey side!

Very cute.. never seen one before..

Vicious starting off with captive bred babies is the best way to go. Sometimes people will post WC breeding pairs and pose them off as cb which is a crime in its own. There are some good honest breeders i can link you with babies at about 100 each if youre interested. Most are incubated for female.

Oh if I was to get them I'd definitly take captive bred ones. Just to clear things up, I never took this species from the wild. I used to work as an intern for the Pa. Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources. We would do surveys to count Spotted and Bog Turtle populations.
