Cool! Not surprising he wants to run the tank though. Convicts are lb. for lb. some of the toughest fish.
That's for sure. My 5" con currently runs my largest community tank, which includes a jag and a 13" oscar (I know that O's are wussy's for their size, but it's funny to watch a 13" O throw down and lose to a 5" (probably 4.5") con.
That is a decent nuchal hump forming. My con has a big one right now, since there's a female Jade Eye he has his eyes on. She's moving tomorrow though, so no hybrids.

just picked up a small breeding pair for my sons 75 gal., you never get sick of these little guys!!!!!

I saw a normal old male Convict with A HUGE cranial hump once, I was surprised they could develop such a thing.
Also I noticed old male convicts teeth begin to protude past their lips. They are already cool looking little fish but the seem to transform into something even Better.
