Here's the deal, I've got a $200 petsmart giftcard and am thinking of adding a canister filter but i'm kind of new to them so I thought I'd get some opnions, I don't want to start a big fanboy war, just some input on what you think would work out the best for me.
The tank it's going on is a 75gal with a 10" jag and 6" dovii(they actually get along well for now) with an emperor 400, i'll be upgrading to a 180gal+(hopefully a 300gal if i get a good tax return) in january and combining a couple of other big guys and probably add my fluval405 (i've had a few weeks and like it so far) another emperor400 and a hot magnum pull of ceramic rings and bioballs.
i am leaning towards an eheim or rena xp3. the eheims i was looking at are the pro2 2026
classic 2217
ecco2236
i might buy 2 filters if i can squeeze them in at $200
also are the new marineland canisters any good? or should i just stick with fluvals?
anywas, thanks for reading my long winded thread and any input is greatly appreciated

eheims are better then rena by far, but i use renas because there cheaper. i have no complaints on my end so far. all filters are about 1.5 years old too. i would do a xp3 if your going rena or the pro2 2026 for eheim. both of these should work out fine on the 75.

ya i run a 404 and a xp3 on my 110

i love my xp3

I use the Rena XP4 in conjunction with an AC 110 on my overstocked 125 and they do great. So I would say the XP3. I personally think Ehiems are overpriced. I like the Fluvals though.
